Connect Claude AI to Zwift via Intervals.icu

Australian Deaflympic marathon and ultra runner, and the solo developer behind IcuSync.

If you have searched for a way to use Claude AI with Zwift, you have probably noticed there is no direct connection between the two. That is expected.

Zwift is training software, not a device. It does not expose the kind of account access an AI assistant would need to connect to it directly. The actual path is through Intervals.icu, which already has a native, official integration with Zwift.

How it works

Intervals.icu and Zwift built a direct integration through Zwift's Training API. Once you connect your Zwift account under Intervals.icu Settings > Connections, two things happen automatically:

Planned workouts on your Intervals.icu calendar sync to Zwift and appear in your custom workout library, ready to ride.

Completed Zwift activities sync back to Intervals.icu for analysis, the same way a Garmin or Wahoo activity would.

IcuSync sits on top of this. Ask Claude to build a workout, and it writes the session using your actual thresholds and pushes it to your Intervals.icu calendar. From there, Intervals.icu's existing Zwift sync takes care of getting it onto the platform. You do not need to export a file or do anything manually once the connection is set up.

What this looks like in practice

Ask Claude for a session, for example a threshold workout or a Zwift run interval set. Claude writes it using your zones or power targets and pushes it to your calendar.

Open Zwift. The workout appears in your custom workout library, or on the day it was scheduled if you use the training plan view.

Ride it. When you finish, the activity flows back to Intervals.icu automatically.

Ask Claude to review it. It reads the completed activity the same way it would for any other connected device.

This works for both cycling and running workouts, since Zwift supports structured training for both.

What you need

A free Intervals.icu account, with Zwift connected under Settings > Connections. If you have not set this up yet, see our guide on setting up Intervals.icu for the first time.

An active IcuSync subscription.

Claude on web, mobile, or desktop. Free or paid plan.

A note on other platforms

If you already use Garmin, Coros, Wahoo, Polar, or Suunto alongside Zwift, nothing changes. Intervals.icu treats Zwift as another connected source, and Claude reads whichever activities land in your account regardless of where they came from.

Why not just export a ZWO file

You can build a workout by hand and drop it into Zwift's workout folder. That works, but you lose the part that makes this useful in the first place: a conversation with Claude about your actual training data, threshold, and recent load, resulting in a workout that lands on your calendar and syncs itself. No manual export, no file management, no switching between apps.
